Detailed Description

The Rapid Western Blotting Kit provides reagents for all blotting steps from gel transfer, blocking and a combined 1º and 2º antibody incubation step. Users provide the primary antibody and chemiluminescent substrates. The kit is available in four formulations:
  • Semi-dry transfer with anti-mouse 2º antibody (N790-KIT)
  • Semi-dry transfer with anti-rabbit 2º antibody (N791-KIT)
  • Semi-dry transfer with anti-goat 2º antibody (1B1322-KIT)
  • Semi-dry transfer with anti-rat 2º antibody (1B1324-KIT)
  • Wet transfer with anti-mouse 2º antibodies (N792-KIT)
  • Wet transfer with anti-rabbit 2º antibodies (N793-KIT)
  • Wet transfer with anti-goat 2º antibodies (1B1323-KIT)

One convenient kit includes all of the following specialized reagents:

Rapid Transfer Buffer, 10X

  • Transfer from gel to PVDF or nitrocellulose membrane in 10-20 minutes
  • Use with wet or semi-dry transfer apparatus
  • Methanol-free, non-hazardous formulation

RapidBlock™ Solution, 10X

  • Blocks PVDF and nitrocellulose membranes in just 5 minutes
  • Protein-free formulation reduces cross-reactivity
  • Enhances chemiluminescent signal

Rapid Antibody Diluent, 10X

  • One-step combined primary and secondary antibody incubation reduces total incubation time to 30-45 minutes

HSP90 and β-Tubulin detection with AMRESCO’s Rapid Western Blot Kit compared to a competitor’s kit. 10 μg per lane of cytoplasmic proteins isolatedfrom K562 cells were resolved on a 12.5% Fluorescent Sprint NEXT GEL®. Proteins were transferred onto PVDF membranes with a semi-dry transfer unit for 10 minutes with the included Rapid Transfer Buffer. The blot was blocked, cut into strips and stained with HSP90 and β-tubulin antibodies with either AMRESCO’s Rapid Western Blot Kit or a competitor’s kit. Distinct bands were observed using the Rapid Western Blot Kit, while no signal could be detected using the competitor’s kit.

Kits are supplied for either standard wet or semi-dry transfer apparatus and with either anti-mouse or anti-rabbit secondary antibodies.
