ZIP™ REVERSIBLE PROTEIN DETECTION KIT

  • Quick, Reversible Protein Electrophoresis Stain
  • Obtain Sequence Data from Proteins not Detected on Transfer Membranes
  • Offers an Established Method of Detection when Structural Analysis is Required
  • Provides a Completely Reversible Detection Method Compatible with Common Downstream Applications

ZiP™ Reversible Protein Detection Kit is an inverse protein stain that offers fast and completely reversible visualization of proteins in polyacrylamide gels. The ZiP™ stain dyes the gel background opaque white, leaving clear unstained protein bands. The clear bands can be easily visualized by placing the gel on a dark background. The gel can also be photographed by placing the gel face down on a flat bed scanner and placing a dark background on top. Following visualization, the ZiP™ stain can be completely removed from the gel using a rapid destaining procedure. Since the proteins are never stained, ZiP™ Reversible Protein Detection Kit offers the utmost compatibility with downstream analysis such as sequencing, mass spectrometry, or Western blotting.

5 μl of AMRESCO Wide Range Protein Marker (Code:K494) was run in each well of a 10% NEXT GEL™ Ready-to-Pour Acrylamide Solution (Code: M256) and stained using the ZiP™ Reversible Protein Detection Kit. For photo documentation, the gel was placed on a dark blue background thus making the transparent bands appear blue.
