RNase A is an endoribonuclease that efficiently hydrolyzes RNA contaminants in DNA preparations from tissue or bacterial cell cultures. RNase Inhibitor is used to inhibit the activity of RNases in reaction mixtures for cDNA synthesis and in vitro transcription, as well as for long term storage of valuable RNA samples. A unit of this protein will inhibit 50% of the activity of 5 ng of RNase A.
