Ready-to-use colorimetric assay for inorganic phosphate concentrations between 2-20 uM.

The Phosphate Assay Kit provides a fast and simple colorimetric assay with superior sensitivity. The assay is a single-step addition that involves the interaction of inorganic phosphate with a molybdate/malachite green complex. Upon reduction in acidic conditions the complex is converted to a blue color which can be quantitated by measuring absorbance at 600-660 nm. Absorbance is a direct measure of inorganic phosphate concentration. The presence of malachite green increases color intensity 30 to 40 fold over molybdate only assays. Reactions can be performed in cuvettes or conveniently in 96-well plates for high-throughput screening.
