Mycophenolic acid is a mammalian selection agent for cells expressing the E. coli gene for xanthine-guanine phosphosribosyl transferase.  Mycophenolic acid suppresses cytokine-induced nitric oxide production by blocking inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase in the guanosine monophosphate pathway.
Recommended working concentration: 25 µg/ml in methanol
